Many of the department heads will be taking time off during the
week between Christmas and New Year's Day. All departments will
be appropriately staffed and many of us will be a phone call away
if something should happen that needs our attention.
Again, thank you for the much appreciated light schedule!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Samantha
FOCUS 2000
The Focus 2000 Steering Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday,
December 20 at 6: 30 p.m. The agenda will be quite heavy as the
Committee will be preparing recommendations to be submitted to
the Council for consideration at the January 28, 1995
Council/Staff Strategic Planning Session. The recommendations
will consist of a prioritization of Focus 2000 goals and action
steps to be implemented in 1995 and identification of Focus 2000
budget priorities for 1996.
Lastly, the Committee will develop a survey soliciting feedback
on the Focus 2000 Implementation Plan. This survey is slated to
be printed in the next City newsletter, Mounds View Matters, in
late February, 1995.
CUSTODIAN
The City's custodian resigned last week due to personal time
constraints. He also works full-time at the University of St.
Thomas and was having trouble fitting his family into his
schedule. An advertisement was placed in last Sundays paper
(12/11) . To date we have received three applications.
Tim C.
D.W. Jones Property:
• Paul and I met with a developer who is interested in building a Holiday Inn
Express on Dale Jones Property located on Silver Lake Road and Highway 10.
We gave them an overview of our policies regarding the use of Tax Increment
Financing and suggested they discuss their preliminary plans with Rice Creek
Watershed due to the wetland area located in the area.
Meeting with EDC Chairman:
• At the request of Delane Welsch, EDC chairman, I met with a women named
Lietta who is on the TCAAP Reutilization Committee. She was interested to
learn more about the demographics of Mounds View and our plans for
redevelopment of Highway 10. I do not feel that I was able to give her much
information since she started to ask what the city's priorities were for TCAAP.
I suggested she talk to Diane Wuori regarding Mounds View's priorities.
