1999 Goals <br /> * Install five (5) valves in the city' s water distribution <br /> system. <br /> * Clean and televise 1/5 of the city' s sanitary sewer system. <br /> * Clean the remaining half of the Woodcrest storm sewer system. <br /> * Evaluate the City' s pavement condition. <br /> * Perform the recommended preventative maintenance procedures in <br /> in accordance with—the Pavement Management Program. <br /> 2000 Goals <br /> * Install five (5) valves in the city' s water distribution <br /> system. <br /> * Clean and televise 1/5 of the city' s sanitary sewer system. <br /> * Perform the recommended preventative maintenance procedures in <br /> in accordance with the Pavement Management Program. <br /> STAFFING LEVEL PROJECTIONS <br /> During the last couple of years staff has completed a few <br /> cuestionnaires regarding staffing levels in the Public Works areas , <br /> throughout the Stanton 5 cities . Levels incuired were in water, <br /> sewer, streets and shop . In all accountable areas , Mounds View' s <br /> staffing levels are relatively to considerably lower than the other <br /> municipalities polled. Staff is recommending that the following <br /> additional positions be considered to provide the maintenance needs <br /> for the city and customers . <br /> 1996 - 1 seasonal streets <br /> 1998 - 1 full time public works positions, Funded 1/4 <br /> G/W/S/SWM, eliminate seasonal in streets <br /> Seasonal employees currently budgeted in the water and sewer <br /> departments would remain constant (4) . <br /> Should this staffing level not be achievable, some consideration to <br /> private contracting could be an option. Experimentation in merging <br /> Public Works and Parks staff may reduce or possibly eliminate the <br /> necessity of additional staffing requirements . <br />
