UNAPPR Mounds View City Council Page 19 Regular Meeting June 26, 1995 1 MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Hankner to Adopt Ordinance No. 564 2 Relating to Peddlers, Solicitors and Transient Merchants and 3 Amending Chapter 504, Sections 504. 06 and 504. 13 of the Mounds 4 View City Code as revised to indicate in Section 3, 5 Subdivision 6, that peddlers and solicitors may conduct their 6 business only between the hours of 9: 00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. 7 8 ROLL CALL VOTE: 9 10 Mayor Linke Yes 11 Councilmember-Blanchard--Yes 12 Councilmember Trude Yes 13 Councilmember Quick Yes 14 Councilmember Hankner Yes 15 16 VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried 17 18 Councilmember Trude advised residents this Ordinance allows 19 the ability to post a "No Peddler" sign so they have to 20 peacefully leave the premises if requested to do so. If they 21 don't, the resident can call the Police Department and report 22 them for violation of the Code. 23 24 Ms. Orduno added the peddler must also produce the license, if 25 asked to do so, and if they do not, the resident can call the 26 Police Department. 27 28 Duane McCarty suggested the peddlers/solicitors be required to 29 have a picture badge which could be clipped to their shirt. 30 He asked if the City recoups their expenses when granting this 31 type of license. 32 33 Ms. Orduno stated the City probably does not. 34 35 Mr. McCarty suggested the Council review the license ordinance 36 to assure the City recaptures those costs. 37 38 REPORTS 39 40 1.
