UNAPPR <br /> Mounds View City Council Page 19 <br /> Regular Meeting June 26, 1995 <br /> 1 MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Hankner to Adopt Ordinance No. 564 <br /> 2 Relating to Peddlers, Solicitors and Transient Merchants and <br /> 3 Amending Chapter 504, Sections 504. 06 and 504. 13 of the Mounds <br /> 4 View City Code as revised to indicate in Section 3, <br /> 5 Subdivision 6, that peddlers and solicitors may conduct their <br /> 6 business only between the hours of 9: 00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 ROLL CALL VOTE: <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Mayor Linke Yes <br /> 11 Councilmember-Blanchard--Yes <br /> 12 Councilmember Trude Yes <br /> 13 Councilmember Quick Yes <br /> 14 Councilmember Hankner Yes <br /> 15 <br /> 16 VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Councilmember Trude advised residents this Ordinance allows <br /> 19 the ability to post a "No Peddler" sign so they have to <br /> 20 peacefully leave the premises if requested to do so. If they <br /> 21 don't, the resident can call the Police Department and report <br /> 22 them for violation of the Code. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Ms. Orduno added the peddler must also produce the license, if <br /> 25 asked to do so, and if they do not, the resident can call the <br /> 26 Police Department. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Duane McCarty suggested the peddlers/solicitors be required to <br /> 29 have a picture badge which could be clipped to their shirt. <br /> 30 He asked if the City recoups their expenses when granting this <br /> 31 type of license. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Ms. Orduno stated the City probably does not. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Mr. McCarty suggested the Council review the license ordinance <br /> 36 to assure the City recaptures those costs. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 REPORTS <br /> 39 <br /> 40 1. Report of Councilmembers: <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Councilmember Quick: No report. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Councilmember Blanchard reported the Senior Picnic was <br /> 45 held on June 21, 1995, about one hundred seniors <br /> 46 attended, and all had a good time. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Councilmember Hankner: No report. <br /> 49 <br />
