Consideration of Hiring of Cable TV Technician, Staff Report <br /> 15 No. 95-1415C <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, reported that Jerry <br /> 18 Skelly accepted a full time position with another company, <br /> 19 however, Jerry has been performing the basic cable producing <br /> 20 functions. Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and <br /> 21 Forestry, Jerry Skelly, Sr. , Cable Commission Member, Dale <br /> 22 Irving, and City personnel staff interviewed four candidates. <br /> 23 Cynthia Johnson was determined to be the best candidate for <br /> 24 the position. Orduno presented Johnson's background and <br /> 25 reported that all reference checks were satisfactory. Orduno <br /> 26 quoted the salary ranges for this position and indicated that <br /> 27 staff is recommending Ms. Johnson begin at Step 3 which is <br /> 28 $10.13 per hour at twenty hours per week. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Mayor Linke stated that the monies for this hire come from the <br /> 31 Cable Franchise Fees. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Orduno stated that the Cable Franchise Fee Fund is a <br /> 34 restricted fund and can be used only for cable TV operations. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Trude to Approve Hiring of Cable TV <br /> 37 Technician <br /> 38 <br /> 39 VOTE: 5 Ayes 0 Nays Motion Carried <br /> 40 <br /> 41 E. Consideration of Water Meter Changeout Proposal, Staff Report <br /> 42 No. 95-1416C <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Mike Ulrich, Public Works Director, provided the historical <br /> 45 background on the water meters and what the issues are facing <br /> 46 the Council regarding the meters: <br /> 47 <br /> 48 1) meters aging (most installed in 1960) <br /> 49 2) inaccurate meters (meters just stop functioning) <br /> 50 3) estimated inaccurately <br />
