TUG Thursday, September 14, Dawn and I attended a TUG meeting at Shoreview Community Center. The guest speaker was Desyl Peterson, Minnetonka City Attorney. Discussion focused on Data Practices in Human Resources. PERSONNEL Interviews were held Wednesday, September 13 for the vacant custodial position. Three candidates were interviewed by Michele and I. A recommendation is included in the agenda packet. RAMSEY COUNTY BUSINESS WASTE PROGRAM During the week of August 21-25, interns from Ramsey County Division of Solid Waste visited 128 of 154 businesses in Mounds View. The objective of this project was to address three issues: to inform Mounds View businesses of technical assistance provided by the County and others; answer directly and questions pertaining to solid waste issues; and gain response from businesses to this type of service. Many of the businesses they visited are currently using some type of recycling program. Response to the project was very good. Lynnette The United Way campaign was a success! Twenty-three people contributed a total of around $3,200 out of payroll deductions and separate donations to help fund various community services. I was pleased to see how many employees are concerned about improving life for others in the Twin City area. In the words of Rabbi Schmelke of Nicholsburg, "Don't use the impudence of a beggar as an excuse for not helping him." Thanks once again. **************** Streetlight placement is currently being determined for the Silver View, Hillview and Lambert Parks. These are areas that had been determined by the Police Department's needs analysis to require such lighting. Due to extenuating circumstances, the City is behind schedule in the proactive installation of streetlights. I'm counting on the installation of seven out of the ten lights by the years end. Dawn
