RESOLUTION NO. 4826 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MS. SUSIE KAISER TO CONDUCT COMMUNITY FOCUS <br /> GROUPS AS PER THE PROPOSAL OF THE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS COMMITTEE <br /> WHEREAS„ on February 27, 1995, the City Council appointed the City representatives <br /> to the joint City/School District which became known as the Community Connections <br /> Committee; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Committee was charged with exploring the feasibility of additional <br /> educational and recreational facilities at Edgewood Middle School; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Committee has determined that a broader examination of the <br /> educational, recreational and social needs of the community is required before a <br /> recommendation can be made as to the feasibility of a joint facility; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Committee has proposed that focus groups be conducted by Ms. <br /> Susie Kaiser and consist of the following groups be conducted during the months of October <br /> and November: <br /> * Families with elementary, middle and high school students <br /> * Families with pre-school children <br /> * Students of elementary, middle and high schools <br /> * Senior citizens <br /> * Educational and social service providers <br /> * Customers of adult educational and recreation programs <br /> * Business representatives; and <br /> WHEREAS, the results of the focus groups will be presented to the City Council at the <br /> December 4 Work Session. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council in and for the City of <br /> Mounds View does hereby authorize Ms. Susie Kaiser to conduct community focus groups <br /> as per the recommendation of the Community Connections Committee. <br /> Adopted this 9th day of October, 1995. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Mayor <br /> (SEAL) <br /> City Administrator <br />
