CITY OF CHANHASSEN ESTABLISHMENT OF HIGHWAY CORRIDOR <br /> DISTRICTS to the Chanhassen City Code (information taken from Ordinance No. 212) <br /> THE PROJECT <br /> Highway 5 corridor represents the heart of Chanhassen as well as its dominating image of <br /> those passing through the community. The development of the corridor and within the corridor <br /> will be major factors influencing the visual and environmental quality of the community as a <br /> whole. The purpose of Chanhassen District's is to create a unified, harmonious, and high-quality <br /> visual environment throughout the corridor, thereby identifying it as a special place with a <br /> unique identity within both the City and the Twin City region as a whole. The districts also <br /> creates the purpose to foster a distinctive and positive community image, for the City as a whole <br /> and especially for the Highway 5 Corridor, which functions as the City's main entrance. <br /> THE BENEFITS <br /> • Universal landscape design and site furnishing standards to all new and renovated <br /> buildings within the district. <br /> • The landscaping shall emphasize massing of plant materials over isolated or scattered <br /> placement of individual specimens. <br /> • All building components shall have proportions that relate to the facade of the building <br /> and relate well with one another. <br /> • Colors shall be harmonious.
