MTV O REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section:17.
1119HOS STAFF REPORT Report Number: 95-151 OwS
OEW AGENDA SESSION DATE November 6, 1995 Report Date: 11 2 95
DISPOSITION
Item Description: Presentation by Police Department of 9/95 Traffic Enforcement Program
Administrator's Review/Recommendatioi ,/'1
- No comments to supplement this repor
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
,SUMMARY;
As you are all aware, September was declared a traffic enforcement month
for the City of Mounds View. Squads were requested to work stationary
radar and stationary observation areas throughout the City. The hours
for the details were 0600 am to 2200 pm hours. During this period 122
contacts were made with the public due to traffic violations. Most
contacts resulted in court citations and some were given verbal
warnings. The highest violation area was Long Lake Road between County
Road H and County Road H2. 57 citations were issued at that location
during September.
During the month, a total of 162 citations were issued by the Police
Department. This includes the traffic detail and routine patrol. The
Last week of September we had use of the State Patrols Mobile Traffic
Monitor. We put it at a different location each day. We had alot of
good feedback from the public.
For our first attempt at a full month of traffic detail, I consider it a
success. Most of the officers put in alot of time making this
successful.
a au_ V4--"A
R
Dave Brick, Lieutenant
RECOMMENDATION:
