• Samantha, Jennifer and I had a meeting with Dave Stewart, a representative from
Woodlawn Terrace, regarding the CDBG application for general improvements,
parking facilities and playground equipment . They are also trying to secure
MHFA financing of which they will use to come current on outstanding City water
bills. They are interested in having the City's support for the project. We made it
clear that the City is very supportive of improvements to multi-family housing units
but would require that all back bills be paid.
• Jennifer and I will be having a meeting with Ramsey County to discuss the
application process and what types of projects they would keep under CDBG and
what would they turn into a Home Loan. We will also be contacting a
representative from the manufactured home parks to encourage them to apply for
assistance for emergency shelters, playground facilities and other general
infrastructure improvements.
Housing Assistance Programs:
• Jennifer and I met with Mark Malone of Western Bank to discuss options for
home assistance programs in Mounds View. Jennifer has gather an enormous
amount of information from several organizations and other Cities on resources
for home assistance. We were able to find out what kinds of programs banks
prefer to support and which programs have the most impact on a community.
The findings will be discussed in Jennifer's draft housing report.
Thanks to everyone at the City for being patient over the last couple month since I
was going through major house stress. I'm happy to report that after several
sleepless nights, we closed the week of Christmas!!!! Now I can be a regular human
being again!
Cathy
FINANCE
I will be happy when this week becomes "the week that was". Everyone in the finance
department has quarterly and yearly reports in addition to the regular routine.
Because we love to pack our lives full, Dorothy and I are throwing Christmas parties
this weekend at our homes. Kitty and Scott are selling their home and are having
their first "open house" on Sunday. She and Scott are going to have a busy and
exciting year. WE wish them the best of luck and no headaches.
