Kitty came in on the holiday weekend to get payroll out on time. She got the W-2's in
the mail and is working on all the state and federal reports required at this time of the
year. In addition she is helping Dorothy enter meter readings.
Dorothy is filing quarterly and yearly reports along with entering readings from meter
cards. She is closing down the year 1994 like the rest of us. The 1995 budget book
is getting closer to completion thanks to her time and effort.
Mary .... what exciting things can I say about myself. I have entered into that "twilight
zone" of the "13th" month of 1994 while also being in the first month of 1995. That
means I am closing out some accounting procedures for the year while holding a few
open. Due to the new method of budgeting in 1995 I am also adding many, many
new accounts to the system. But enough of my exciting times.
Don, also has been doing annual and department reports. He and Tim Cruikshank
worked on installing a CD-ROM on a computer but had no luck.
Don
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
PARKS:
* The cold weather finally arrived for flooding over the holiday weekend - and the
rinks were established enough to open Tuesday, January 3.
* Final work is being done at Hillview and Groveland Park buildings. I am not
happy with how long the carpenter has taken to complete the project -
however, he is doing a good job. Hopefully he will be completely finished with
his interior work by the end of this week and will finish up on some exterior
work at Hillview next week.
* We are awaiting carpet for Groveland Park building - needed to be ordered
and shipped. Hillview has been carpeted. This carpeting is a high industrial
use grade used by Eagen and other departments for rink buildings - with good
results and longevity.
* We have had a few comments regarding the use of vinyl for the bathroom
floors fearing of skates damage during rink use. During rinks the vinyl
bathroom floors are covered to protect the vinyl. The buildings are used only 2
months out of the year for rinks. The bathrooms were designed for easy
cleaning, sanitation and use by a variety of users including pre-schoolers,
