Strategic Planning Remember...the Council/Staff Strategic Planning Worksession is scheduled for Saturday, January 28th at the golf course clubhouse. Georginne Madsen will facilitate the session. We have asked her to attend the reception for Sue next Monday night so that she will have an opportunity to meet each Council member in an informal setting. She will be contacting each of you during the next few weeks to set up individual appointments to talk with you about your personal views on the direction of the City in the next five years. Georginne is a most pleasant individual, very personable and energetic. She conducted the recent Customer Service Training Session for staff and was very well received. She is very excited about the Strategic Planning Worksession and I'm sure will do just a super job. Samantha FOCUS 2000 The Focus 2000 Steering Committee met Tuesday, December 20 at 6:30 p.m. to prepare goal priorities for 1995 and budget recommendations for 1996. The Focus 2000 goals for 1995 were prioritized as 1) Finance Issues, 2) Business Growth and Development/Highway 10 Issues and 3) Childrens Issues. The funding priority for 1996 was to fully fund a liaison officer for Edgewood Middle School. A report from Chairperson Dan Nelson will be submitted to the Council for consideration prior to the Strategic Planning Session at the end of this month. The last time the Committee worked on was the Focus 2000 Implementation Plan survey for the next newsletter. CUSTODIAN On Tuesday of this week, Don Brager and I interviewed 4 candidates to fill the part- time Custodian position. A recommendation for Council consideration is in the packet. Tim C. Community Development Block Grants: • Notice of applications for CDBG and Home Loans were mailed to all owners and property managers of multi-family rental units in Mounds View. The applications are due early this year by February 1, 1995. Therefore, it was requested that all completed applications be submitted to the City by January 16th to enable a resolution of support to be passed at the January 23, 1995 council meeting. So far Jennifer has had one response.
