* I have been working on a CDBG grant for the paving of a trail connecting
Scotland Green Apartments with Silver View Park. As you recall, the paved trail
stops at Long Lake Road and does not continue on the south side of Silver
View Pond, which is an easement that we have on Scotland Green Apartment
land. This would benefit both the park trail system and park access by
Scotland Green residents.
* Winter recreation programs are underway. Mary has been getting programs
started. Spring planning is commencing.
* THE BIG NEWS - - TERRY HAS ACCEPTED MARV'S PROPOSAL FOR
MARRIAGE - - THE BIG GUY IS GOING TO BITE THE DUST!! IF YOU
HAVEN'T NOTICED, MARV-IS FLYING-oN-CLOUD-SAND DOESN'T EVEN -
REALIZE IT. WE ALL CONGRATULATE MARV AND WISH HIM WELL ON HIS
WEDDING PLANS.
FORESTRY:
* Over 5000 Christmas trees were received for chipping. This has been a
collaborative program with Mounds View, New Brighton and Arden Hills, along
with the garbage haulers. The chips will be available for resident use - located
across Beisswengers off County Road 8.
GOLF COURSE:
* The advertisement for Clubhouse Manager/Golf Instructor has been completed
and faxed to various organizations and papers and cities. Tim Cruikshank is
spearheading the hiring process.
* Kurt has been working on advertisement and signage. Scorecards and
publication information has been prepared and sent to various publications and
printers.
CABLE TV:
* The Cable TV Committee met last Thursday for programming ideas. "The View
From the Mound" will be taped this Thursday and will be aired the later part of
next week. Ernie Gustafson is the resident of interest. He was a participant in
the medical delivery in Honduras. A nutritionist will also be interviewed
regarding healthy foods. New City Councilmember Hankner will be
interviewed. The Second Winds, exercise equipment store located at Silver
View Plaza will be introduced with an on-site visit.
Mary S.
