Consideration of Providing Funding Assistance for Festival In <br /> 10 The Park Celebration Through the Transfer of $4, 000 from <br /> 11 Contingency Fund to Professional Services <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Sharie Linke, Parks and Recreation Administrative Assistant, <br /> 14 reported that she was speaking on behalf of the Festival In <br /> 15 The Park Committee to request funds in the amount of $4,000 <br /> 16 towards the operating expenses of the 1995 Festival In The <br /> 17 Park Celebration. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Ms. Linke introduced the following members of the Festival In <br /> 20 The Park Committee: Alice Frits, a representative of the <br /> 21 Mounds View Lioness Club and Chairperson of the Concessions <br /> 22 Committee; Dru Dukart, representing Band Boosters and <br /> 23 Chairperson of the Parade Committee; Kathy Harrer, also from <br /> 24 the Band Boosters and on the Publicity Committee; Pat Michna, <br /> 25 a resident and Staff member who is Entertainment Chairperson <br /> 26 and on the Fund Raising Committee. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Ms. Linke explained that the Festival In The Park Committee is <br /> 29 made up of 24 people who are representative of the Mounds View <br /> 30 businesses, non-profit organizations and residents. Their <br /> 31 goal is to present to the residents of Mounds View a <br /> 32 celebration, to bring people together and foster pride in the <br /> 33 community, and to spotlight local businesses. The dates of <br /> 34 the 1995 Festival In The Park are July 8 and 9; however the <br /> 35 dates of the Festival week are July 3 through 9. Ms. Linke <br /> 36 specified the various activities scheduled for the Festival <br /> 37 week and the organizations that will be sponsoring those <br /> 38 activities. She also reported the funding sources for the <br /> 39 Festival, stressing the need for the funds from the City to be <br /> 40 used for operating expenses. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Councilmember Blanchard commented that it appeared to be a <br /> 43 great Festival. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Trude to Provide Funding Assistance for <br /> 46 Festival In The Park Celebration Through the Transfer of <br /> 47 $4, 000 from Contingency Fund to Professional Services <br /> 48 <br /> 49 VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 50 <br />
