The galloping crud rides again!
We are looking for someone to blame for the cold and sore throat
that many of us are experiencing at City Hall. Last time, it was
Tim Cruikshank, then it was Paul. Now, we are looking for someone
new. Any ideas? Oh yes, we've already used the "weather" .
Cable Commission Budget and Financial Audit
I contacted Cori Wilson at the North Suburban Cable Commission
and requested a copy of their 1995 Budget and most recent
financial statement. She will be sending the Budget and the 1993
Financial Statement right away and will send the 1994 Financial
as soon as she receives it from the auditors.
Selection of a new Fire Chief
The process has begun for selecting a new Fire Chief. The
position description was sent to Fire Chiefs in a seven state
area and advertisements have been placed in the LMC Bulletin and
several area newspapers. Personnel Decisions Resources, Inc. is
will screen resumes and recommend 7-8 finalists. PDI will also
conduct an Assessment Center process for the finalists.
The candidates will first be interviewed by a panel of 2
representatives from each station, followed by an interview with
each of the three City Administrators who will make a
recommendation to the Board. The Fire Board has final selection
authority.
It is anticipated that the new chief will be on board in late
March/early April.
The Fire Chief dropped off a copy of the new By-laws which I have
included herein for your records. The By-laws provide increased
involvement by the three cities and create a Board that is
comprised of not only firefighters, but also representatives from
the three communities. Boy, have we come a long way. The Fire
Department has truly become a partner of the three cities. A
great deal of the new relationship has to do with Chief
Fagerstrom's acceptance and support of the role of the cities.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Samantha
CLUBHOUSE MANAGER/GOLF PRO
To date, the City has received 9 applications for the Clubhouse
Manager/Golf Pro position. Although the response has not been
overwhelming, some good candidates have applied. The deadline
for submitting applications is 2/14 .
