5 YEAR GOAL PLAN
Samantha and I have started to reorganize the 5 Year Goal Plan
per Council direction at Wednesday evening's meeting. With a
little luck, this document will be available by Monday.
GROUNDBREAKING FOR SILVER LAKE POINTE APARTMENTS
The groundbreaking for the senior apartments was held at 10: 30
a.m. on Wednesday, 2/8. A picture of the event was sent to the
Bulletin to be included in next weeks paper.
Tim C.
Cathy Bennett has been at an Economic Development Seminar this
week.
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
PARKS
Equipment Specifications: Steve has been preparing
specifications for the purchase of a parks truck, small mower and
large mower. The large mower is the only one requiring a formal
bid process. The truck will be purchased on the state bid. Once the warmer weather appears we
will discontinue flooding and simply broom the rinks, letting the
rinks thaw relative to the weather. Rink attendants will be
scheduled only through February 26. This is one week over the
budgeted time. Woodcrest Rink is the exception - it will close
February 10. It has been an unusual winter.
Pedestrian Bridge Update: Joyce and I met with MNDOT Grants &
Aid last Friday to review the memorandum that is required for
design approval. The process is somewhat time consuming since
many agencies must be called for approval of the plans. Joyce
has agreed to take on that part of the task. The other part is
the preparation of a plan that outlines the specifics of the
project. We received a copy of Washington County's memorandum
regarding a trunk Highway project and will use this as our guide.
In addition, we discussed what type of engineering that we should
have for this project. A DESIGN/BUILD is one option and
iridiVidual engineering is the other. After hearing our plans for
