Mayor Linke explained that only <br /> 2 streets in critical need would be reconstructed. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Mr. Dahlberg was in favor of stricter law enforcement for speeding. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Rhonda Smieja, 5298 St. Stephen Street, strongly opposed curbs and <br /> 7 gutters and favored street standards at a minimum width. Her main <br /> 8 concern was the water runoff. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Bill Ivory, 5115 Eastwood Road, concurred with the other people who <br /> 11 were opposedtowidening the streets. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Mr. Ivory was in favor of stricter law enforcement for speeding. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Gary Heldman, 2332 Sherwood Road, did not feel that widening the <br /> 16 streets would be a public improvement. His property value would <br /> 17 decrease because he would lose trees if the streets were made <br /> 18 wider. He was concerned that wider streets could cause higher <br /> 19 traffic speeds and could cause more stormwater runoff. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Mr. Heldman was in favor of stricter law enforcement for speeding. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Terence Posterick, 5100 Brighton Lane, was concerned regarding the <br /> 24 cost of street reconstruction. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Pat Moenkhaus, 5132 Eastwood Road, concurred with Councilmember <br /> 27 Trude relative to keeping the street widths narrow. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Mr. Moenkhaus was in favor of stricter law enforcement for <br /> 30 speeding. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Charles Ross, 5142 Eastwood Road, was against widening the streets. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Bill Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, commented that no work had been <br /> 35 done to repair Long Lake Road. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Joan Soebding, 5105 Eastwood Road, inquired if the City would <br /> 38 jeopardize losing state assistance if the street standards are set <br /> 39 at 30 feet. Mayor Linke explained that MSA funds, which come from <br /> 40 gas taxes, have a minimum 32 foot standard. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Bill Soebding, 5105 Eastwood Road, concurred with Councilmember <br /> 43 Trude relative to the narrow street widths. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Mr. Soebding was in favor of stricter law enforcement for speeding. <br /> 46 He stated that he had seen young drivers go right through stop <br /> 47 signs on several occasions. He would like to see more police <br /> 48 activity on Woodcrest Drive. <br /> 49 <br />
