UNAPPROVED <br /> Mounds View City Council Page 10 <br /> Regular Meeting May 22, 1995 <br /> 1 Joe Reinke, 5165 Eastwood Road, expressed his appreciation to the <br /> 2 Council for encouraging the public to express their opinions. He <br /> 3 felt that streets should not be made wider, citing concerns about <br /> 4 stormwater runoff and pollution. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Rhonda Smieja, 5298 St. Stephen Street, inquired what the <br /> 7 assessment policies were for other communities. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Mike Ulrich, Director of Public Works, offered the varied <br /> 10 assessment policies for the following communities: Anoka, Arden <br /> 11 Hills, Blaine, Andover, Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Burnsville, <br /> 12 Circle Pines, Coon Rapids, Falcon Heights, Fridley, New Brighton, <br /> 13 and Maplewood. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, advised that she had been <br /> 16 requested by a citizen to let the Council know they are opposed to <br /> 17 the street width of 32 feet. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Mayor Linke stated that this public hearing would be continued to <br /> 20 the June 12, 1995 Regular City Council Meeting. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 MOTION/SECOND: Trude/ to Amend the Street Standard in Ordinance <br /> 23 No. 560 to 28 Feet Instead of 32 Feet <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Motion failed due to lack of a second. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Quick to Table the Introduction of <br /> 28 Ordinance No. 560 to the June 12, 1995 Regular City Council Meeting <br /> 29 <br /> 30 VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Councilmember Hankner explained that the public hearing has been <br /> 33 tabled to the next Council meeting to allow more residents to come <br /> 34 forward with their opinions. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Councilmember Hankner left the meeting at 9: 31 p.m. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 To Consider and Formally Introduce Ordinance No. 561 Amending <br /> 39 Appendix A, "Specific Rezonings" , of the Mounds View Municipal Code <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Mayor Linke opened the public hearing at 9: 32 p.m. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Paul Harrington, Community Development Coordinator, clarified that <br /> 44 Ordinance No. 561 amending Appendix A, "Specific Rezonings", was <br /> 45 introduced at the May 8, 1995 City Council Meeting and was being <br /> 46 considered at this time for final adoption. This Ordinance would <br /> 47 allow the rezoning of the property located at 7305 Knollwood Drive, <br /> 48 which is the former Tom Thumb property, from a B-1 Neighborhood <br /> 49 Commercial to an R-2 Single and Two-family Residential.
