'Draft 3-13-95 <br /> Image Enhancement Material, <br /> Objective <br /> • It is the belief of the Marketing Task Force that the City of Mounds View lacks an image to many <br /> of the residents and the people who pass through the community. The image enhances will <br /> establish Mounds View as a unique community with many attributes,including its large array of <br /> trees,its quality school system,its new golf course with bridges,wetlands and wildlife and its <br /> foundation as an excellent place to live and work. <br /> Strategies <br /> • Develop quality,attractive,professional image enhancement materials to capture the attention of— <br /> target audiences thereby leaving them with a way to identify with the community of Mounds <br /> View. <br /> Image Statement <br /> Concept <br /> • The old image statement,"Gateway to the North,"identified the City as a mere pass through point <br /> to somewhere else. The current image statement,"Quite Simply the Best",does not convey the <br /> messages in the Mission and Vision Statements. The following are three statements that the <br /> marketing task force feels best exemplifies the community spirit and progressiveness of Mounds <br /> View and clearly relates back to the mission and vision statements for the City. These statements <br /> were chosen from a larger list that was developed by the task force. They include: <br /> 1. "Bridging People and Business"-Incorporates the bridge <br /> theme,and two important contributors to the community City of Mounds View <br /> -its residents and the businesses that employ people. Mission Statement <br /> 2. "Community Spirit,Global View'-Incorporates the Mounds View, through the <br /> theme that Mounds View is not an insular municipality, promotion of cooperative <br /> relations with all its <br /> but a vigorous city with a broad focus. stakeholders, will develop a <br /> dynamic climate that recognizes <br /> 3. "MVP's:Pride,Partnership and Progress"-Establishes the ever changing needs of the <br /> that residents are proud of the community,its community. <br /> partnerships with business and its neighbors,and its Working together, we will take <br /> development. steps to meet those needs and <br /> facilitate positive changes that <br /> Execution allow us to shape the future of <br /> our City. <br /> • Mounds View Economic Development Authority to chose a new image statement from <br /> the three presented. Incorporate statement on letterhead,signage,publications,and <br /> wherever the current logo is used. Once the identity statement is chosen,evaluate the <br /> feasibility of designing a new logo that reflects the message of the new image statement. <br /> Estimated Costs: <br /> • Minor setup charge to add image statement to logo. Phase in with regular <br /> reprints of materials. <br /> 9 <br />
