I've not been able to locate the District's reply to this request for inspection and ditch maintenance. However, I do acknowledge your inclusion of this section of ditch in the current Plan of the District dated November 1993. I would like to bring to the attention of the Board, the City's proposal to be moving forward with further development of the area north of 85th Avenue/County Road J and West of 35W. An appropriately functioning ditch system in this area is going to enhance the quality of this subdivision to meet drainage objectives without unneces- sarily burdening property owners. There is currently excessive water standing in the culvert as it crosses County Road J which, I believe, exceeds a reasonable mainte- nance standard. The District's proposal for ditch inspection and maintenance was proposed November 1993 for 1995, however, as I understand, the inspection and mainte- nance budgeted for 1994 was not included in the current 1994 budget. I cannot empha- sis enough, that the priority which the District has intended for ditch maintenance in 1995 for Judicial Ditch #1 should still be met. I therefore encourage the District to review its ditch maintenance priority schedule and retain the Judicial Ditch #1 inspection and maintenance in the 1995 budget. Thank you for your consideration.
