It is anticipated that the Task Force will not meet again for 4-6 weeks. All
Task Force members have been so devoted to meetings every two
weeks that they are not one bit sad about having a rest, a well deserved
rest.
The Parks and Recreation Commission met last Thursday, January 27,
1994 to discuss 1994 Goals and other issues. They have made a long
list of Goals which are quite ambitious which they will share with the
Council in April during the work session as well as the Strategic Planning
session. Council liaison Trude will be sharing issues of the Commission
with the Council.
GIFTS CATALOGUE has been prepared and printed. I will share them
with the Council at the Work Session on Monday.
The papers and forms have been sent in for credit card registrations.
Now we wait until approval is granted and the little machine is received
and phones are hooked up for the gizmo and Spring registration begins.
Until then we are advertising the new service to begin in March with
Spring registration. Isn't it exciting!
FORESTRY:
Rick is preparing grants. The Small Business Grant will be submitted to
screen the wall along Ardan park to Eastwood Road with plantings and
trees in an effort to "spruce up" the new wall area.
Also, Rick is writing a Challenge Grant for tree planting and maintenance.
This grant will be for screening along Greenfield Park trail to hide the
backyards of the fourplexes along Quincy St.
Rick has sent 15 letters to residents along Long Lake Road who have lost
trees due to the road improvements asking them to notify him regarding
wishes for tree replacement. Tree replacement is offered through an
MSA program a the State Office. There is money available and Rick has
given the information to Jim Hess. Jim will look into the fund to secure
tree replacement funds for this project.
