To Approve the October 11, 2010, Executive Session 5 <br />meeting minutes as corrected. 6 <br /> 7 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 8 <br /> 9 <br />11. REPORTS 10 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Council Member Mueller asked that all residents be safe this weekend with Trick or Treater’s 13 <br />walking the streets this Sunday. She encouraged all to attend the Pinewood parade on Friday 14 <br />afternoon, along with other events planned by local churches. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Council Member Mueller indicated the Mounds View Festival in the Park Committee was 17 <br />seeking volunteers to assist with planning next year’s event, scheduled for August 20, 2011. She 18 <br />explained the Committee meets at City Hall on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Mayor Flaherty updated the Council on the TCAAP property. The GSA has had two bidder’s 21 <br />conferences and was now compiling an invitation for bid. He indicated he would keep the public 22 <br />posted on when the auction was scheduled to take place. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Flaherty stated Si Simon of Simon’s Sporting Goods Shop passed away last week at the 25 <br />age of 87. The Council sends their condolences to his family and thanks him for his many 26 <br />contributions to the City of Mounds View. 27 <br /> 28 <br />City Administrator Ericson added that Alice Frits passed away this past week. The Council 29 <br />sends their condolences to her family as well. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 32 <br /> 33 <br />1. Finance Quarterly Report 34 <br /> 35 <br />Finance Director Beer reviewed the quarterly financial report with the Council in detail. He 36 <br />explained revenues were down in the general fund for 2010, in a large part due to the reduction in 37 <br />local government aid. The Community Center Fund has a deficit of $66,000, but payments 38 <br />would be made into this fund in the fourth quarter. Rental revenues were down, but a new client 39 <br />has signed on for rental services. Investments were gaining little interest at this time, but 40 <br />inflation was remaining low. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Finance Director Beer indicated the Finance Department would be working on the 2011 budget 43 <br />for the Truth in Taxation meeting scheduled for December 6, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. and continued to 44 <br />December 13, 2010 at which time the Council will need to adopt the budget and tax levy. 45
