<br /> <br />www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us <br />6 <br /> <br /> <br />Crime Prevention Report <br /> <br />Summer was another busy quarter for the Crime Prevention Unit. <br /> <br />Festival in the park celebration and parade were successful. <br /> <br />The City of Mounds View held a record number of National Night Out parties. <br /> <br />Officer Keckeisen continued to monitor monthly alarms reports to determine crime patterns <br />and to assign fines for repeating false alarms. <br /> <br />Quarterly Predatory Offender checks continued this quarter. Officers visited 2 offenders to <br />confirm that their registration information is current and correct, and to provide recent photos <br />to the B.C.A. All predatory offenders in Mounds View are currently in compliance with their <br />registration. <br /> <br />A community notification meeting was held to inform the public that a level 3 predatory <br />offender moved into the 5600 Block of Quincy St. <br /> <br />Officer Keckeisen attended the property manager’s coalition meeting this quarter to discuss <br />reports of crimes that happened on their property and to develop proactive strategies to deter <br />future criminal activity. <br /> <br />To provide added safety for school aged children Officer Keckeisen, along with the Patrol <br />Division provided extra police presence at the cross walks of Edgewood, Sunnyside, and <br />Pinewood schools before and after school. <br /> <br />Officer Keckeisen met with the 5th grade teachers from Pinewood Elementary School to set <br />the DARE curriculum for the 2010-11 school year. <br /> <br />To help reduce criminal activity, and address specific concerns of citizens, extra patrol and <br />visual police presence was focused on several specific areas. <br /> <br />Finally, Officer Keckeisen continues to publish and distribute the weekly crime summary and <br />crime prevention tips, and assist with the Police Department webpage. <br />
