<br /> <br />www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us <br />7 <br /> <br />Training Report <br /> <br />Members of the Police Department attended the following courses during this past quarter: <br /> <br />• First Aid Essentials <br />• Legal Update <br />• Essentials of Crime Scene Investigation <br />• CSI Effect and Prosecution <br />• Exercise Design <br />• Fundamentals of Emergency Management <br />• Emergency Planning <br />• Leadership & Influence <br />• Exercise Evaluation & Improvement Planning <br />• Decision Making & Problem Solving <br />• Effective Communication <br />• Developing & Managing Volunteers <br />• Association of MN Emergency Managers Conference <br />• Crisis Intervention Training <br />• Introduction to Incident Command <br />• Incident Command System (ICS) for Single Resources <br />• National Incident Management System (NIMS)- An Introduction <br />• FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check <br />• Criminal Justice Information Users Conference <br /> <br />School Resource Officer Report <br /> <br />During the month of September 2010, the following incidents were reported: 1 assist to other <br />agency, 2 disorderly conducts, 1 assault, 1 follow-up investigation, and 1 hit and run car <br />accident. From those cases, referrals were made for 2 juveniles to the Northwest Youth and <br />Family Services Diversion Program. <br /> <br />In the first month of the school year, The SRO performed various functions and duties <br />including but not limited to: transporting students home or to out of school suspension <br />programs, assisting parents with civil issues, attending Building Operations Committee <br />meetings, counseling students about domestic violence issues, assisting other police <br />agencies with investigations involving Edgewood students, counseling students about <br />harassment, recovering lost property, assisting the school with the maintenance and use of <br />their security camera system, investigating possible crimes involving students outside of <br />school, investigating incidents of theft in the school, attending the school dance, citing a <br />driver for a traffic violation in front of the school, counseling a student about hate crimes, <br />investigating damage to school property crimes, deescalating students who were in crisis, <br />and assisting an outside agency with locating a missing child.
