Mounds View City Council October 12, 2009 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />Ericson stated staff has reviewed the draft five-year agreement and recommend renewal. 1 <br /> 2 <br />Jerry Hromatka, representing NYSF, provided a brief PowerPoint presentation to describe the 3 <br />cost-effective services collaboratively provided to its member northern suburbs since 1976, fund 4 <br />raising activities, and households served, resulting in a regional impact. Mr. Hromatka reviewed 5 <br />the positive outcomes of the City’s contribution, their dedication to provide the best services, and 6 <br />invited the Council to the October 28, 2009 grand opening of the Discovery Center. He stated 7 <br />the rates for 2010 will be a little less than in 2009 and advised of NYFS’ partnerships with 8 <br />communities, school districts, the faith community, and businesses. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Council Member Stigney asked what is the base amount. Mr. Hromatka stated in 2010 it would 11 <br />be the 2009 base amount minus 1.1%. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Gunn commented that the work and success stories of NYFS are remarkable. 14 <br /> 15 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7509, Renewal 16 <br />of an Agreement for Services between the City of Mounds View and Northwest Youth and 17 <br />Family Services. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Mayor Flaherty read a listing of the number of Mounds View residents who used NYFS services. 20 <br />He stated this is a worthwhile program available to all Mounds View residents and he appreciates 21 <br />the efforts of this organization. 22 <br /> 23 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Mayor Flaherty left the Council Chambers at 7:49 p.m. 26 <br /> 27 <br />E. Resolution 7513, Approving a Revised Property Tax Payment Plan for 28 <br />Moe’s, Located at 2400 Highway 10. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Assistant Clerk-Administrator Crane advised the property taxes for Moe’s remains delinquent 31 <br />and a revised payment plan has been submitted by Jeff Moritko, owner of Moe’s. She noted that 32 <br />the Council had invited Jeff Moritko to attend the meeting tonight to discuss the revised plan. 33 <br />Assistant Clerk-Administrator Crane presented the draft resolution that would approve the 34 <br />revised property tax payment plan and the Council’s options to adopt the resolution, start the 35 <br />process to revoke the liquor license, or table consideration to the October 26, 2009 Council 36 <br />meeting. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Clerk-Administrator Ericson stated Mr. Moritko called him this evening to say he was unable to 39 <br />attend tonight because his children are ill and wife is not yet home. Mr. Moritko had asked the 40 <br />Council to act favorably on the revised tax payment plan. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Mayor Flaherty returned to the Council Chambers at 7:51 p.m. 43 <br /> 44 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To table consideration of the revised property tax payment 45
