There was one 27
citizen that attended for the entire retreat both days. He then said that it has been said in the past 28
that the Staff is telling the Council what to do and that is not the case. During this retreat, the 29
Staff and Council work together to set goals and the Staff works with Council to make it happen. 30
He then outlined some of the ways that staff sacrifices and looks for ways to save the City 31
money. He further said that he is proud of the employees, and morale is good despite the 32
sacrifices they are asked to make. 33
34
Mayor Marty indicated he would like the Finance Director and City Attorney to put together 35
information on what can be rebated for the past street improvement projects and what cannot, 36
and why. He then said that he would like a letter mailed to the last street projects that are still 37
paying if they did not pay up front. 38
39
Finance Director Beer indicated that there is a pretty good list of those that will get a rebate and a 40
letter will go out. 41
42
Council Member Mueller requested that recipes for the cookbook be submitted by April 15, 43
2008. She then noted that there is a meeting on April 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. on the Blaine Airport 44
expansion. 45
