Discussion: <br />Plans and Specifications – Based on the previous City Council action outlined <br />above, plans and specifications for this project have been prepared. Copies of <br />the plans have been attached for City Council’s review, along with selections <br />from the specification (Project Manual) including cover, table of contents, <br />certification page, and bid form. The remainder of the Project Manual can be <br />provided for review upon request. <br />The bid form identifies each specific item that will be included in the construction <br />contract. For the purpose of this report, the bid form has been completed to <br />provide the current Engineer’s Estimate for the construction cost of the project. <br />The following tabulation compares the current estimated construction cost from <br />the plan to those contained in the Feasibility Report for the project: <br />2008 Street Maintenance Project <br />Estimated Construction Costs <br />Item Report Plans Percent <br />Mounds View Construction Cost $135,500.00 $135,745.75 62.3% <br />Spring Lake Park Construction Cost 82,250.00 82,079.75 37.7% <br />Total Estimated Construction Cost $217,750.00 $217,825.50 100.00% <br />From the above table it can be seen that the current estimated costs for both the <br />Mounds View and Spring Lake Park portions of the project are very close to the <br />costs estimated in the Feasibility Report for each City. The final project amount <br />and cost allocations to each City will be based on the actual project costs. <br />The costs shown above are construction only. Amounts for engineering, legal, <br />fiscal, and administrative activities associated with the work must be added to the <br />construction cost to provide an estimated of the total project value.
