THIS IS IT....
For the Week of March 28, 1994 - April 1, 1994
Employees
Cathy Bennett, the City's new Economic Development Coordinator and Jennifer
Bergman, the City's new Housing Intern will officially begin employment with the City
of Mounds View on Monday. Cathy will be in attendance at the Work Session and the
Strategic Planning Session next weekend. What a busy introduction to the public
sector!
Carla Asleson's last day will be Wednesday, April 7th, so Monday night will be her
last Council meeting. We are planning a luncheon farewell party for Wednesday.
Details will be finalized in time for the Monday night meeting.
Paster Enterprises
I had lunch with Sharie Timmons of Paster Enterprises this week to discuss Paster's
plans for leasing the vacant stores in the shopping center. Although nothings is
finalized, Sharie thinks there may be a deal in the works to lease half of the old
Country Club market. The key to the future success of that center is centered on
leasing the old market's space. She is going to pursue a bakery, shoe repair,
computer store (old and new) a same day service dry cleaners and an upscale
consignment shop.
Business Association
The Business Association met today and developed an outstanding Mission
Statement. The May Council Work Session is the meeting that representatives of the
Business Association are scheduled to meet with the City Council to update the
Council on the organization's goals and discuss how the private/public partnership
can be strengthen.
