* Over 93 seniors have registered for the special senior citizen picnic organized by Sharie
and sponsored by the Lion's Club and Western Bank. It will be held at Silver View Park
on June 21.
FORESTRY:
* The Forestry Crew did an excellent job of landscaping the front of City Hall. We are
still waiting for the large tree plantings for City Hall Park. These are contracted
plantings - we are waiting our turn anxiously.
* The crew has also been doing trimwork in the City an example being the bushes at the
triangular property at the corner of County Road I and Pinewood Dr.
* Two lilacs planted at the corner of Long Lake Road and Eastman were stolen. These
plantings were installed in an effort to beautify small corner properties on County
easements.
CABLE TV:
* You will never see Jerry's room as clean as it was Open House night!
* Jerry has a 10 minute video tape regarding interactive systems. We will show it during
various budget sessions. There are so many information opportunities with the interactive
system that it is really exciting!
GOLF COURSE:
* Kurt has set up shop at the golf course in a rented office trailer. This will be a place
where he and 2 seasonals will be able to store their equipment, have lunch and regroup.
The trailer will be used until the maintenance building can be used.
* Kurt is meeting with several equipment representatives to choose the right equipment for
the course. He has many contacts and therefore will be able to choose the best
equipment for the best price.
* One Golf Course Greenskeeper, Chad, will begin work on Monday, June 13. He is an
employee which Kurt employed at Centerbrook and has influenced him to come work for
us. Chad is a college student with years of golf course maintenance experience and is
trained in mowing greens and fairways and is knowledgeable with irrigation systems.
Chad and Kurt will be working the ditches for a few weeks doing basic "grunt work" and
when the grass is planted will begin fertilizing and mowing and the other jobs associated
with maturation.
* Kurt and I met with Runyan/Vogel Architects and Ebert Const. people for a pre-
construction meeting regarding the Maintenance Building and Clubhouse. Work on the
Maintenance Building will begin Wednesday, June 8 with anticipated completing August
