November 24, 2008 Item No. 7J
Page 5
A summary of the easements identified for the project is shown in the following table:
Temporary and Permanent Easements Required
Temporary Permanent Easement
Parcel
#AC AC Status
1 Western Bank 0.041 In Process
Western Bank 0.010 In Process
2 Mounds View Square 0.015 In Process
3 Animal Hospital 0.025 In Process
4 Snyders 0.005 0.003 In Process
5 Saturn 0.012 In Process
6 MultiTech 0.100 0.379 In Process
7 United Properties 0.040 In Process
Total 0.249 0.381
Contact has been made by Staff with all property owners from whom an easement is
required. All owners have been cooperative. It is anticipated that all easements, both
permanent and temporary, will be successfully obtained and at no direct cost to the City.
Sketches and descriptions of the easements have also been prepared for each
property. Copies of the sketches are included with this Staff Report for reference. The
City Attorney is currently working to prepare the easement agreements for the
properties.
Advertise for Bids
As per state statute, with an estimated contract amount in excess of $100,000, the
project must be advertised for competitive bidding of the construction contract.
Due to the use of federal funds on the project, the bid date is scheduled by the MnDOT
Federal Aid office after they have approved the plans and specifications.
Along with approval of the construction plans, Staff is seeking authorization from the
City Council to advertise for bids. Since the exact date of the bid is not yet known, the
authorization would be contingent upon receiving the bid date from MnDOT.
