As noted in the project summary letter, the difference in the original contract <br />amount and the actual final construction cost is due primarily to the 1-year delay <br />in the wear course paving of the street from the original schedule of August 2007. <br /> <br />The assessment roll for this project was adopted on October 8, 2007. The <br />increase in construction cost due to the wear course delay was anticipated in the <br />preparation of the assessment roll. The estimated construction cost used in the <br />determination assessments was $185,884.32, which is a difference of only <br />$11.09 from the actual final construction amount. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Resolution 7379, accepting the project and authorizing final payment to the <br />contractor, has been prepared and is included with this Staff Report. Staff <br />recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution and make final payment <br />for the Hidden Hollow South Utility and Street Improvement Project to Nord <br />Excavating, Incorporated in the amount of $34,930.70. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Joseph R.
