assigned to this project, it could take up to 120 days. The estimated fee for the reduced review time
through the Petroleum Brownfield Program is $1,500.00. This additional cost is not eligible for
reimbursement under the Minnesota Petrofund Reimbursement Program.

Additionally, work conducted as a part of the Limited Site Investigation is eligible for partial (90% maximum)
reimbursement under the Minnesota Petrofund. As part of their Limited Site Investigation quote, Wenck
Associates has submitted a cost ($1,000.00) for completing the Petrofund Reimbursement Forms.

Recommendation:
Public Works Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution approving a
professional services contract with Wenck Associates for conducting the Limited Site Investigation at the
Public Works Facility. Staff further recommends a 10% contingency of $1,150.00 for quantity over-runs or
additional work resulting from unknown conditions discovered during the investigation. The total budget for
the Limited Site Investigation and completing the Petrofund Reimbursement Forms will not exceed
$12,109.00 to be funded from the Public Works Building budget, 480-4180-7050. Any additional work
would require pre-approval by the Public Works Director.

Respectfully submitted,

Brian L. Erickson – Public Works Director/City Engineer
