<br />RESOLUTION 8784 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING THE QUOTE FROM BITUMINOUS ROADWAYS, INC. FOR VARIOUS <br />STREET REPAIRS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Over the past few months the City experienced two water main breaks <br />and a failing storm sewer that had excessive infiltration and allowed sand to enter the <br />storm sewer line causing the road to be undermined; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Staff pursued bituminous repairs with a past contractor and the <br />current contractor working on Area I to perform this work; both declined to quote due to <br />their heavy work load; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Staff contacted other vendors to perform the required repairs and <br />received two quotes from Bituminous Roadways, Inc. for $10,000.00 and T. A. Schifsky <br />and Sons, Inc. for $18,700.00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the low quote was received from Bituminous Roadways for <br />$10,000.00; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View approves the quote from Bituminous Roadways, Inc. of Mendota Heights, <br />MN for a total of $10,000.00 for the various street repairs with funding of $7,100.00 from <br />the Water Department Fund, 700-4823-5140, repairs - streets, with a 2017 budget of <br />$10,000.00 and $2,900.00 from Storm Water Fund, 745-4415-5150, repairs and <br />maintenance with a 2017 budget of $55,000.00. <br /> <br /> <br /> Adopted this 10th day of July, 2017. <br /> <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> Carol A Mueller, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> <br />(seal)
