BUILD A COMMUNITY CENTER <br /> Progress Update: The City is actively involved in the creation of a <br /> Regional Senior Center. Four cities: Mounds View, Fridley, New <br /> Brighton and Spring Lake Park, have proposed the construction of a multi- <br /> purpose senior center to be located within an Anoka County park area. <br /> In the Spring of 1992, an architect was hired by the four cities to work with <br /> the Regional Senior Center Task Force to prepare a schematic design of <br /> the proposed center. <br /> Future plans include determination of funding for <br /> construction, possible joint powers agreements and within the next 2-3 <br /> years, construction. <br /> ESTABLISH AN ON-GOING MARKETING PROGRAM TO CREATE <br /> AND PROMOTE A NEW IDENTIFICATION FOR MOUNDS VIEW <br /> Progress Update: The creation and distribution of a "New <br /> Resident brochure to Mounds View residents has helped bring City <br /> information to people new to the City. <br /> The creation, in 1992, of the Mounds View Business Association <br /> and the City's participation has greatly enhanced the City's ability to get <br /> key information out to the members of our business community. <br /> The City Newsletter enacted "Ask the City", a resident concern form which <br /> is sent to the Administrator and answered promptly by phone or mail and <br /> is also discussed by the Mayor on the City's Cable Show, A View From the <br /> Mound. <br /> PROVIDE A MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION <br /> SYSTEM FOR MOUNDS VIEW ( TOTAL <br /> COMMUNITY) <br /> Progress Update: In 1992 Parks and Recreation <br /> Department mobilized interested residents into the Trailways Advocacy <br /> Group (TAG). Their purpose was to determine the best plan to <br /> incorporate a trailway system within the City which woad be multi- <br /> purpose, safe and cost efficient and also connect neighboring trail systems. <br /> TAG's report and recommendations were presented to the Council in May, <br /> 10 <br />
