Mounds View City Council December 11, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting Page 17 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Flaherty asked how Staff could abate the vehicles without current license. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Housing Inspector Anderson indicated that the City can have the vehicles towed off the property 4 <br />but usually does not have to do so. 5 <br /> 6 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6978, 7 <br />Abatement of Nuisance Code Violations at 7867 Eastwood Road. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if gas and electric is on at this location. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Housing Inspector Anderson indicated that due to the Cold Weather Rule they cannot be turned 12 <br />off now but will be when the time expires. 13 <br /> 14 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> I. Resolution 6985, Approving Non-Union Cost of Living Adjustment, 17 <br /> Benefit Contribution Adjustment and Pay Equity Adjustment 18 <br /> 19 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that this Resolution will approve a 3% cost of living increase 20 <br />and health insurance contributions and the Resolution also makes an adjustment for pay equity 21 <br />for two female employees. 22 <br /> 23 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Flaherty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6985, 24 <br />Approving Non-Union Cost of Living Adjustment, Benefit Contribution Adjustment and Pay 25 <br />Equity Adjustment. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Mayor Marty indicated that due to the pay equity study it has come to light that some employees 28 <br />are underpaid and the City is mandated to start compensating to bring them into compliance but 29 <br />some of the cities’ employees are designated as overcompensated for their classification like the 30 <br />City Administrator and some of the Department Heads and he would like to look at the Pay 31 <br />Equity Study and start making these adjustments at this time. He then suggested a 1 or 2% raise 32 <br />for those employees who were designated as overcompensated. 33 <br /> 34 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty. To Amend to Require that the City Administrator and Department 35 <br />Heads be Referred Back to the HR Committee for Consideration and if the Vote Goes Otherwise 36 <br />Raises Would be Retroactive. 37 <br /> 38 <br />The Motion failed for lack of a second. 39 <br /> 40 <br />City Administrator Ulrich explained that the pay equity deals with gender equity and the 41 <br />Compensation Plan is something different. 42 <br /> 43
