Mounds View City Council January 2, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller asked if the Mounds View Community Center Task Force will 1 <br />continue. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Ms. Crane indicated that it is not on the Resolution but she is seeking direction as to whether to 4 <br />fill the positions on the Task Force. 5 <br /> 6 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Marty would like to keep the Community Center Task Force active as it is a fluid 9 <br />operation over there. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Stigney said he would like to advertise for it and he would like to know what 12 <br />the task would be for this group. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Mayor Marty said he would like them to consider marketing ideas and ideas on how to operate it 15 <br />either as it is or on a membership basis. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Council Member Mueller indicated that she would like to continue operating the Task Force. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Council Member Stigney said that he does not want to staff it without any specific goals in mind. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Flaherty said that it is a good idea to keep it open for now and suggested that 22 <br />Council sit down with Park and Recreation Commission to formulate the purpose of the Task 23 <br />Force. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council asked that this be added to the February work session. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> C. Resolution 6994 Appointments to the Planning Commission 28 <br /> 29 <br />Community Development Director Ericson asked Council for consideration of appointments to 30 <br />the Planning Commission. He then explained that there were seven applications submitted and 31 <br />those were reviewed by the Planning Commission and their recommendation is listed in the Staff 32 <br />report. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Director Ericson pointed out that those that are not chosen for the Planning Commission could 35 <br />consider the open seat on the Park and Recreation or Charter Commission. 36 <br /> 37 <br />City Administrator Ulrich pointed out that there is an opening on the Police Civil Service 38 <br />Commission as well. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Keith Cramblit addressed the Council and expressed his interest in being on the Planning 41 <br />Commission. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Council Member Flaherty asked how long he had been a civil engineering technician. 44 <br /> 45
