Phasing of this project <br /> <br />On December 4, 2006 the City conducted a work session in which these items <br />were discussed with the City Council. The City Council gave direction on several <br />of these items. <br /> <br />On December 11, 2006 the City Council held a public hearing and approved <br />Resolution 6982 approving the Feasibility Report for the 2007-2008 Street and <br />Utility Improvement Project. <br /> <br />On January 2, 2007 the City conducted a work session in which several design <br />issues were discussed with the City Council. The City Council gave direction on <br />several of these items. <br /> <br />On January 25, 2007 Staff provided the City Council with a memorandum entitled <br />2007-2008 Street and Utility Project Update. This memorandum included <br />information pertaining to curbs, schedule, petition, and water quality i.e. <br />raingardens. <br /> <br />On February 5, 2007 the City conducted a work session in which several design <br />issues were discussed with the City Council. The City Council had questions on <br />some design item and provided direction on several other items. Information in <br />response to the questions the City Council posed on February 5, 2007 will be <br />provided in a separate memorandum report. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />Design Issues and Considerations if the Project Proceeds <br />Should this project proceed, the next action the City Council should consider is to <br />order the project and authorize the preparation of construction plans and <br />specifications. To ensure this project stays on schedule and to ensure that the <br />construction plans and specifications reflect the expectations of the City Council, <br />it is recommended that all design issues be resolved when the preparation of the <br />construction plans and specification is authorized. <br /> <br />The following is a list of design issues that have been identified. Also included is <br />Staff’s interpretation of the general consensus (majority of opinion) of how the <br />Council would like to address these design issues - based on previous <br />discussions.
