Item No. 8F <br />Meeting Date: March 12, 2007 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />Administrator Review: _____ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Mike Sommer, Police Chief <br />Item Title/Subject: Purchase of One Replacement White Marked Police <br />Squad Car for 2007. <br />Date of Report: March 12, 2007 <br /> <br /> <br />NATURE OF REPORT: As discussed during the March 5th work session, the police <br />department has planned to replace one seven year old marked squad car (a 2000 <br />Chevrolet Impala with 78, 0000 miles) this year. The city mechanic has reviewed the <br />condition of all of the marked squad cars and has deemed that the Impala in question is <br />in a condition that warrants its replacement. $23,000 is budgeted for this squad <br />replacement. Elk River Ford was awarded the state bid for the 2007 Ford Crown <br />Victoria Police Interceptor. The white Crown Victoria is being sold at a price of $20,328, <br />excluding, registration, and license. The set up for the police equipment and graphics <br />has been budgeted separately.
