Mounds View City Council April 9, 2007
Regular Meeting Page 2

She then said that the City needs to look at incident reports for the area during the last few years 1
that might make a no parking restriction worthy. 2
3
Mayor Marty indicated that Mr. Ulrich and Chief Sommer are going to meet with the school and 4
the officers from the school have been asked to be involved as well. The Chief has said that until 5
a week ago Monday this was not brought to his attention so he had no idea there was a problem. 6
7
Mr. Hammes said that he thinks that no stopping or parking at specific times would work better. 8
He then said that if the police could get behind this would help, as they were not interested in 9
saying anything to the people that were there. 10
11
6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUISNESS 12
13
None. 14
15
7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 16
17
A. Public Hearing to Consider the Preliminary Plat for a Major Subdivision of 18
the Property Located at 8360 Long Lake Road 19
20
Planner Heller explained that this item was before the City previously but the recording was not 21
finalized and now the property owner has come before the City for approval of this major 22
subdivision. She then said that this is an R1 area and the three lots will exceed the minimum lot 23
size requirements and noted that the Applicant would like the option of leaving the existing home 24
on the property. 25
26
Planner Heller explained the jog in the property line noting it was done to ensure the ability to 27
maintain the 10-foot setbacks. She then said that this will add two new homes to the City and 28
possibly a third, if the person who purchases the third lot tears the existing home down and 29
rebuilds. 30
31
Planner Heller indicated that there are easements for utilities as required by Code and all three 32
lots will access onto Long Lake Road. 33
34
Planner Heller indicated that the park dedication fee was based on the addition of two lots and 35
utilities will need to be placed underground during construction. 36
37
Planner Heller indicated that one of the lots is heavily treed and the tree situation will be 38
discussed when someone comes in for a building permit. She also explained that they would be 39
asked to clean up the diseased trees on the site at that time. 40
41
Planner Heller indicated that residents were notified and there have been no concerns expressed 42
other than concern for tree loss. 43
44
Mayor Marty opened the public hearing. 45
