Resolution 7047, Approving an Off Sale 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor License for 20 <br /> Aldi’s Located at 2537 County Highway 10 in Mounds View 21 <br /> 22 <br />Community Development Director Ericson said that this item was discussed at the previous 23 <br />Council meeting and a question was raised on the distance to the Church and schools. Staff did 24 <br />some research for other communities and how they treat separation from other types of uses. 25 <br />Some do separate and some do not. He then said that he asked Aldi what percent of sales the 26 <br />alcohol would be and what they do sell and it is wine and a small percentage. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Director Ericson indicated that the attorney has revised the code and in his opinion, How the 29 <br />measurement is computed is entirely up to Council. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Director Ericson indicated that Council Members are invited to the Aldi ribbon cutting on May 1, 32 <br />2007 when Aldi’s opens. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Council Member Mueller said that they have to comply with the Ramsey County liquor 35 <br />dispensing hours. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Council Member Flaherty said that he thinks the bigger issue is going back and looking at what 38 <br />the setback requirement should be and there is a nonconforming business in Mounds View 39 <br />Square already. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Marty said that going building to building does not work and front door to front door 42 <br />does not work. He then said that Big Top is at the other end of the building. He further 43 <br />commented that due to the proximity of the church he does not feel comfortable with approval of 44 <br />this. He also noted that not all Aldi stores sell alcohol. 45
