Following is a breakdown of each vendor and their price and lead
time for first draft after receipt of our code.
1) $7950 - STERLING CODIFIERS from Weiser, ID
- lead time of 4 months for first draft.
2) $8590 - LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES (CLEAR - City Lawyer Exchange
Aid and Repository) This price includes stricken language and
legislative history.
- lead time of 1 year for a first draft.
NOTE: In order for our City to participate in the CLEAR program our
City Attorney has to be a member of CLEAR. The cost for this is
$175.
3) $10650 - AMERICAN LEGAL PUBLISHING from Cincinnati, OH
- lead time of 6 months for a first draft.
4) $14350 - HARTLEY ASSOCIATES from Ramsey, MN
- lead time of 6 months for a first draft.
some additional services that the
There are om City may want that are
not included in these quoted prices. Some of these items are:
additional copies of the code, special reprints, additional volumes
of the code and computerized versions of the code. Also, annually,
there will be a fee charged to update the code.
Based on the above quotations and speaking to all of the vendors,
I would highly recommend Sterling. They are the most cost
effective, offer similar services than the more expensive vendors,
have a shorter lead time and have checked out with other cities in
the—area—that have u s .
I would also recommend that the Council approve a budget not to
exceed $10,000 . The quote from the vendor is $7950, however, the
additional services may increase the total cost.
