Mounds View City Council January 23, 2006
Regular Meeting Page 26

City property that goes around the Medtronic complex. He stated that he feels that there is a 1
difference between a trailway and a road if Medtronic wants to buy the corner tip of the property. 2
3
Mayor Marty referenced Item #2 regarding the grant construction maintenance and use of fire 4
road easement. He explained that the City hereby grants, pardons or sells and conveys to present 5
or any future owner of Medtronic property. Mayor Marty stated it is in the agreement that the 6
City could sell this, so he questioned why the triangle part is cut out if they are creating an actual 7
road surrounding the complex. He stated that he maintains the City should sell Medtronic the 8
southeast corner. 9
10
Councilmember Thomas stated the limited use agreement that was approved did not require the 11
purchase of property so at this point, it would be disingenuous to even bring up the issue. She 12
stated her frustration that Mayor Marty is constantly bringing up issues and arguing points that 13
were part of the original agreement and have already been decided upon. 14
15
Ayes – 3 Nays – 1 (Marty) Motion carried. 16
17
8. He stated he talked to City Administrator Ulrich as well 36
as Director Ericson about this issue. Mayor Marty explained that Maria _____, the building 37
cleaner, had to buy a lease from Coverall in order to clean City Hall. He stated she was not 38
deducting it every month from what she was making. Mayor Marty reported that Maria ____ 39
stated the contract expired and due to City Hall closing, she was out of a job and she still owed 40
on the lease. Mayor Marty stated he mentioned to City Administrator Ulrich and Director 41
Ericson that she does a good job and it may be a possibly to contract directly with her to clean the 42
new building. Mayor Marty stated that the issue could be moved to the work session if needed, 43
as there are several months before City Hall is open. He added that the Council will need to re-44
advertise for bids for contractual cleaning. 45
