Mounds View City Council October 10, 2005 <br />Regular Meeting Page 20 <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated they should either postpone it until the property was closed or 1 <br />approve it. 2 <br /> 3 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/. To approve the Resolution 4 <br /> 5 <br />Councilmember Thomas stated she agreed they should approve this and it did not make any 6 <br />sense to not approve it so they did not have to deal with special City Council meetings. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Marty stated he understood the golf course employees would be retained for a couple of 9 <br />weeks after the auction to close things up. City Administrator Ulrich responded they needed the 10 <br />employees for a week. He noted they should postpone this to the next regular Council meeting. 11 <br /> 12 <br /> Ayes-2 Nays-3 (Councilmembers Flaherty, Gunn, Thomas) Motion failed. 13 <br /> 14 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Thomas. To approve Resolution No. 6651, Authorizing the 15 <br />Layoff of Regular Full-Time Golf Course Employees and Providing Severance. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Councilmember Stigney requested an amendment to the motion to provide a two weeks notice of 18 <br />layoff starting tomorrow. The amendment fails for lack of a second. 19 <br /> 20 <br /> Ayes-3 Nays-2 (Councilmember Stigney and Mayor Marty) Motion carried. 21 <br /> 22 <br />9. CONSENT AGENDA 23 <br /> 24 <br />A. Resolution 6650 Approving 2006 SCORE Recycling Grant request to Ramsey 25 <br />County 26 <br />B. Insert to Truth In Taxation Notice 27 <br />C.
