RESOLUTION 6731 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING SEVERANCE PAYMENT FOR KEN MANTHIS WHEREAS, Ken Manthis was laid off from his position as Clubhouse Manager/Instructor effective November 10, 2005; and WHEREAS, Resolution 6585 was passed on August 22, 2005, allowed payout of vacation and sick leave in accordance with the current personnel policy, allowed accumulated flex-time to be used by employees, and additional severance pay of one week per year of service; and WHEREAS, Section 4.35D states that an employee will be compensated for accrued vacation time and 50% of accrued sick leave upon separation; and WHEREAS, the balance of accrued and unused vacation time is 308.80 hours; and WHEREAS, the balance of accrued and unused sick leave time is 778.80 hours; and WHEREAS, Ken Manthis was with the City for nine years, which authorizes him nine weeks of pay per Resolution 6585; and WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of vacation time will be 308.80 hours X $22.73 = $7,019.03 and the maximum payout of sick leave will be 778.80 hours X 50% X $22.73 = $8,851.07, and an additional maximum payout of 9 weeks for 9 years of service will be 360 hours X $22.73 = $8,182.80 for a total of $24,052.90; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council approve a one-time payout of accrued and unused vacation time in the amount not to exceed $7,019.03, a 50% of accrued and unused sick leave in an amount not to exceed $8,851.07, and maximum payout of 9 weeks for 9 years of service with the city in an amount not to exceed $8,182.80 to Ken Manthis.
