During 1991 the position has been responsible for <br /> the establishment of an improved planning program <br /> including, but not limited to, increase code enforcement <br /> activities, updating the City's Comprehensive Plan and <br /> administration of the Solid Waste Recycling Program. <br /> The creation of a Planning Intern position in 1991 will <br /> provide the time and additional staff required to conduct <br /> an initial housing inventory. <br /> Housing is also a major consideration for City efforts in the <br /> next five years. A decline in the quality and visual <br /> appearance of a City's housing stock is perhaps one of the <br /> leading indicators of a City in trouble. If we want to <br /> establish Mounds View as "quite simply the Best city in the <br /> northern suburbs" we must be prepared to take any and all <br /> steps which may be needed to maintain or improve the <br /> quality of our neighborhoods. <br /> Plans for 1992 and beyond include: <br /> • <br /> Comprehensive Housing Inventory and Analysis <br /> including project implementation steps for a housing <br /> rehabilitation program and identification of funding <br /> options. <br /> Conceptual analysis of the council/staff goal of <br /> making Highway 10 a community-oriented corridor. <br /> Continued attention to local resident planning needs. <br /> Participate in development and redevelopment plans <br /> 7 <br />
