JUNE 3, 1991 COUNCIL WORKSHOP <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL <br /> FROM: SAMANTHA ORDUNO, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br /> DATE: JUNE 3, 1991 <br /> RE: STAFFING ANALYSIS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> ***************************************************************** <br /> One of the results of the May Teambuilding/Goalsetting session was <br /> agreement by the Council to explore staffing levels in relation to <br /> service and project demands/expectations . The areas of concern were <br /> Administration and Planning (planning as it relates to special <br /> projects and code enforcement) . <br /> At tonight's Council workshop, staff is requesting the addition of <br /> 2 intern positions (Planning and Administration) and a position <br /> time increase from half-time to full-time for the Recreation <br /> Supervisor during the summer months. <br /> It is proposed that the Management Intern be a full-time internship <br /> program through the end of the year. It is also proposed that the <br /> Planning Intern be employed as a full-time internship throughout <br /> the summer. If funding from the U. of M. becomes available the <br /> position will drop to a half-time position. <br /> The position objectives, proposed projects, compensation and <br /> timeline details are attached. <br /> Due to the heavy demands on the Recreation Department during the <br /> summer months, the request from the Parks and Recreation department <br /> is to increase the hours of the Athletic Supervisor. <br /> The purpose for this request is outlined in the attached memo from <br /> Director Saarion. <br />
