Item No: 08G <br />Meeting Date: June 26, 2006 <br /> Type of Business: CA <br />City Administrator Review: ______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6861, Approving a Charitable Gambling One-Day <br />Permit for the Mounds View Community Theatre for the <br />August 20, 2006 Mounds View Festival in the Park <br /> <br />The Mounds View Community Theatre, a non-profit charitable organization, would <br />like to hold a Bingo Game on August 20, 2006, at the Mounds View City Hall Park, <br />for the Mounds View Festival in the Park celebration. <br /> <br />The Mounds View Community Theatre is located in Mounds View, and they have <br />more than 30 active members. This meets the requirements of the Mounds View <br />City Code. <br /> <br />The Gambling Control Board requires that local unit of government (city or county), <br />pass a resolution specifically approving or denying the Premises Permit <br />Application. This resolution (approving or denying the application) must be voted <br />on and the resolution forwarded to the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of the One-Day Charitable Gambling Permit for the <br />Mounds View Community Theatre at the location and date stated above. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Desaree M.
