August 14, 2006 Executive Session Meeting Minutes 5 <br /> 6 <br />MOTION/SECOND: THOMAS/STIGNEY. To Approve the August 14, 2006 City Council 7 <br />meeting minutes as corrected. 8 <br /> 9 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 10 <br /> 11 <br />11. REPORTS 12 <br /> 13 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council 14 <br /> 15 <br />Councilmember Flaherty asked the status of the street program. Director Lee replied that a 16 <br />notice was sent out to residents in the project area explaining the next steps. He stated that the 17 <br />consultant is currently putting together a feasibility report for the 2007-2008 construction 18 <br />projects. He stated the feasibility report would be presented in October and discussed in 19 <br />November. He stated it is scheduled for a public hearing on December 11th. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Councilmember Flaherty stated he would like residents to know that the issue is front and center 22 <br />on the Council’s agenda. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Councilmember Gunn reported that the Festival in the Park was held on a beautiful day and many 25 <br />residents attended. She thanked Teresa Sermack, Kathy Schwalbe, and Diane Warren, who were 26 <br />the only three people who helped her run the festival. She thanked Saturn of Mounds View for 27 <br />sponsoring the band for the evening, Medtronic for sponsoring the fireworks, Public Works for 28 <br />their support, and Bethlehem Baptist for games and a donation. She also thanked the Church 29 <br />Upon the Rock and the Irondale Danceline for games, the Fire department for bringing the safety 30 <br />house, US Army for the rock wall, Irondale Marching Band for leading the parade and Jackie 31 <br />Entsminger for being the grand marshal. She also thanked the Police Department for keeping 32 <br />things in line and ensuring safety. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Councilmember Gunn stated the City needs volunteers for several committees for the Festival 35 <br />and asked citizens to step forward. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Councilmember Flaherty stated he would like the item addressed during a work session regarding 38 <br />what the City can do to further support the Festival in the Park. 39 <br /> 40 <br /> B. Reports of Staff 41 <br /> 42 <br />City Administrator Ulrich mentioned that the Mounds View Matters should have been delivered 43 <br />last Friday and Saturday. He asked that citizens let the City know if they have received their 44 <br />paper. 45
