Mounds View City Council November 27, 2006 Regular Meeting Page 12 1 City Administrator Ulrich indicated that the City is getting good local support for administrative 2 offenses legislation so Staff will continue to work on that. 3 4 City Administrator Ulrich indicated that the Mayor had called and noted that there are issues with 5 the cable TV station bulletin board not functioning due to a software issue. He then said that 6 Staff has begun looking into the solution to the problem but it may not be an easy or cheap 7 solution. 8 9 City Administrator Ulrich announced that Tim Pittman, Public Works Foreman has submitted his 10 resignation so that will need to be discussed at the work session. He then said that the City 11 wishes him well as he begins his new position as Public Works Director for the City of Falcon 12 Heights. 13 14 Council Member Stigney said that the cable rebroadcasts that he has been watching the last few 15 weeks show a lot of distortion in the podium microphone and the microphone on the other end so 16 he thinks there should be a monitor or something to see what is happening. 17 18 Mayor Marty said that Staff should have a monitor so they can hear what is going out. 19 20 City Administrator Ulrich said that there is a live monitor that picks up what the residents are 21 receiving but it does have a five second delay. He then said that it does help for periodic 22 monitoring of what goes out to the residents. 23 24 Mayor Marty asked Council to consider getting plaques for outgoing council members for years 25 of service because this is a rather thankless job and he would like to acknowledge the service and 26 provide a record of appreciation from the City. 27 28 Council Member Stigney said that he does not think that it is necessary but would approve of a 29 certificate. He then said that he does not want a plaque when he leaves. 30 31 Council Member Flaherty said it would be a nice memento of time serving the community. 32 33 Council Member Stigney said that commissioners do not get paid but Council does and he feels 34 this is not needed or required and the City should not be spending money on it. 35 36 Mayor Marty asked that this be referred to the work session for further discussion. 37 38 Public Works Director Lee said that at the last work session TMobile gave a presentation and 39 that presentation was given to the Parks Commission and Parks provided a recommendation with 40 conditions for Council consideration. He then said that Staff is seeking direction for the tower in 41 Groveland Park as to whether this should come to Council or go before the Planning 42 Commission for a special use permit. 43 44
