6 . 15 <br /> • (9) Taking any fee, gift or other valuable thing in the <br /> course of his work in connection with it, from any person for his <br /> personal use, when such fee, gift or thing is given in the hope or <br /> expectation of receiving a favor or better treatment than that <br /> accorded to other persons or citizens . <br /> ( 10) Conduct in private life which brings discredit upon <br /> the municipal service. <br /> ( 11) Proven dishonesty in the performance of his duties . <br /> ( 12) Soliciting political contributions from municipal <br /> employees, and/or engaging in political activities on or with City <br /> equipment or on City time. <br /> ( 13) Unauthorized use of City owned equipment and <br /> vehicles . <br /> ( 14) Violation of the provisions of this chapter. <br /> 6 . 16 . RIGHT OF APPEAL. In all cases of suspension, <br /> demotion, or dismissal, the reasons for such action must be <br /> presented in a dated written statement to the employee affected. <br /> 41, Upon the employee's dated, written request to the appointing <br /> authority filed within ten working days of receipt of the <br /> statements of reasons, an employee shall be granted a hearing <br /> before the appointing authority, said hearing to be held not later <br /> than 15 days from the date of filing of the request for hearing. <br /> if the cause for suspension, dismissal, or demotion is not <br /> substantiated before the appointing authority, the employee shall <br /> be reinstated in his former position and shall receive all payments <br /> and benefits which would have been earned during the period of <br /> suspension, dismissal, or demotion. <br /> 6 . 17 . NOTICE OF INTENT TO DISCIPLINE. Whenever feasible <br /> the Clerk-Administrator shall provide at least two days notice to <br /> the union representative of an employee about to be disciplined <br /> through either suspension, demotion, or dismissal. Such notice to <br /> be given as soon as practical after the disciplinary action have <br /> been decided. Failure to give notice shall not be cause to <br /> invalidate the action taken. <br /> 6 . 18 PROHIBITIONS. No person shall willfully or <br /> corruptly make any false statement, certificate, marker, reading <br /> or report in regard to any test, certificate, or appointment held <br /> or made under the municipal personnel system or in any manner <br /> commit or attempt to commit any fraud preventing the impartial <br /> execution of the provisions of this chapter.
