6 . 18 <br /> directly or indirectly give, render, or pay any money, service or <br /> other valuable consideration to any person, for on account of or <br /> in connection with his test, proposed appointment, or promotion. <br /> 6 . 19 VETERAN'S PREFERENCE. Nothing in this chapter <br /> shall be effective to the extent that it is inconsistent with the <br /> "Veteran's Preference" law, Minnesota Statute Chapter 197 . <br /> 6 .20 VACATION POLICY AND SCHEDULE. (240) <br /> Subdivision 1. The objective of vacation is to provide <br /> employees with a period of rest and relaxation. Vacation leave <br /> will accrue to full-time employees according to the following <br /> schedule: <br /> 1 through 5 years 10 days <br /> After 5 years through 10 years 15 days <br /> After 11 years 16 days <br /> After 12 years 17 days <br /> After 13 years 18 days <br /> After 14 years 19 days <br /> After 15 years 20 days <br /> Subdivision 2 . Vacation will accrue to regular part- <br /> time employees on a pro-rata basis of the schedule in Subdivision110 <br /> 1 . <br /> 6 .21 LEGAL HOLIDAYS OCCURRING DURING VACATION PERIOD. <br /> When a legal holiday falls on a working day during an employee's <br /> vacation, the day of the holiday will not be counted as a day of <br /> vacation. <br /> 6 .22 VACATION PAY. If an employee desires vacation pay <br /> in advance of vacation, he must give the Finance Director at least <br /> three weeks notice in writing of each request. He would then <br /> receive his normal check to the regular pay period which occurs <br /> during his vacation. <br /> 6 .23 VACATION TIME. All vacations shall be arranged and <br /> posted by May 1. However, an employee may take vacation time <br /> giving reasonable advance notice subject to the approval of their <br /> Department Head or the Clerk-Administrator. Employees will be <br /> given opportunity to select vacation periods insofar as it is <br /> practical . Selection of vacation time shall be based on seniority. <br /> 6 .24 CARRY-OVER AND WAIVER OF VACATION LEAVE. An <br /> employee shall be permitted to carry over no more than ten days <br /> vacation time plus the amount accrued during the previous year from <br /> one year to the next, except with Council approval. <br />
